IRIS Managed Payroll Services supports organisations across the UK by running payroll accurately, securely, and in line with legislation. We’re now hiring a Migration Team Lead to help deliver one of our most important programmes - moving clients onto our next-generation payroll platforms.

This role is ideal for someone with UK payroll and migration experience who enjoys leading people, organising complex work, and making sure clients have a smooth transition.

Payroll migrations are high-pressure, high-impact projects. Clients rely on us to get it right first time.

As Migration Team Lead, you’ll:

  • Lead a small specialist team delivering payroll migrations
  • Keep projects organised, on track, and moving forward
  • Step in when problems arise and make sure they’re resolved quickly
  • Act as a senior point of support for both your team and clients

You’ll have ownership, visibility, and a real say in how work gets delivered.

Why This Role Matters

A payroll migration sets the tone for the entire client relationship.

Your work will:

  • Protect clients from payroll risk and disruption
  • Ensure migrations complete on time and accurately
  • Support teams to deliver consistently high standards
  • Improve how migrations are delivered across the business

You won’t be firefighting alone - you’ll be shaping how things work.

About the Team You'll Join

You’ll manage a team of around 7 Migration Consultants and Customer Adoption Coordinators, working closely with Implementation and Training teams.

It’s a hands-on leadership role, focused on guidance, clarity, and removing blockers - not micromanagement.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading & Supporting the Team

  • Guide and support the team through live payroll migrations
  • Be the first point of contact for questions and issues
  • Help team members prioritise work and stay focused

Managing Payroll Migrations

  • Plan, track, and oversee migration activity end-to-end
  • Monitor deadlines, risks, and dependencies
  • Step in early when issues arise and put solutions in place

Working with Other Teams

  • Coordinate closely with Implementation and Training colleagues
  • Keep project plans and documentation up to date
  • Support new ways of working and process improvements

Escalations & Client Impact

  • Take ownership of escalations and see them through to resolution
  • Ensure clients receive clear, professional communication
  • Support access to training materials and resolve any issues

What We’re Looking For

This role will suit you if you have:

  • Experience working on UK payroll migrations or payroll projects
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good knowledge of UK payroll processes and compliance
  • Confident communication skills - with teams and clients
  • A customer-focused mindset
  • Experience guiding or supporting others (formal leadership not essential)

If you’ve been a senior payroll or migration specialist and often act as the go-to person, this could be a natural next step.

    What You’ll Gain

    • A visible leadership role in a major payroll transformation programme
    • The chance to shape how migrations are delivered
    • Supportive colleagues and clear ways of working
    • Opportunities to develop your leadership and project skills
    • Long-term career growth within a stable, respected payroll business
