Role Overview:

 

IRIS is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Finance Manager to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The primary responsibility of this role is to act as the senior finance  partner to the Managed Services function providing full financial support to the Senior Leadership Team. Managed Services includes a diverse range of services such as monthly outsourced payroll services, offshore support, and additional advisory services. This segment has seen significant growth both organically and through acquisitions, and we anticipate this trajectory to continue.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Finance leadership: Provide timely analysis and insight to the Managed Services leadership team to help them meet and exceed financial goals.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare, review and sign off key financial submissions (actuals, forecasts, budgets and long-term plans). Ensure that key assumptions and trends are fully understood by key stakeholders (Operational and Finance SLTs).
  • Acquisition Integration: Support the consolidation and integration of acquisitions within the Managed Service function. Aid leaders in achieving post-acquisition value creation plans and EBITDA improvement.
  • KPI Analysis: Review and manage performance against KPIs. Recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Mentor: Act as a finance team leader, support more junior members of the team to grow and develop.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Engage in other ad hoc projects to support the broader UK Payroll & HR division as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional Certification: CIMA (or equivalent) several years PQE.
  • Experience: Proven experience in business partnering with senior leaders, ideally within managed services, recurring revenue, or payroll services sectors.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Capability to lead projects/initiatives and drive them to conclusion.

  • Partner with functional leads, provide financial support to aid their decision-making process. Attend and participate fully in Managed Service SLT meetings – present relevant financial data, highlighting key trends and issues.
  • Provide direction to the Managed Services Finance Business Partner to ensure that financial models are robust, accurate and appropriately maintained.
  • Manage the monthly reporting, annual budget and Long Term Planning processes ensuring that key deliverables are met and that Commercial, Product and Operational initiatives are appropriately reflected.
  • Ensure business partners fully understand their financial commitments and how they are tracking against them. Provide guidance on managing the risks and opportunities and agree strategies and reporting mechanisms to help maximise financial performance.
  • Challenge the Managed Services SLT as appropriate to maximise financial outcomes.
  • Review the monthly results against forecast and budget. Provide key variance information to Finance and Operational SLTs and explain implications of variances on the forecast.
  • Ensure effective financial controls are in place and working across Managed Services.
  • Work effectively with the broader finance function to develop and deliver holistic and informative information on the performance of the product portfolio (e.g. new sales, upsell, attrition and attributable costs).
  • Utilise various systems and the Datawarehouse to deliver and enhance the management information that drives decision making within the business.
  • Identify areas of value creation/potential cost saving. Support ad-hoc projects and analysis as required, for example supporting IRIS’s leadership team to deliver their strategic objectives.

Person specification

  • CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Advanced Excel
  • Senior Finance and Commercial Business Partnering
  • Experience of managing full P&L
  • Ideally experience at software, payroll or high-recurring revenue / high growth industries.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel (A lot of the analysis/modelling is still done in excel).
  • Experience of Netsuite, Salesforce and/or Tableau/PowerBI all desirable. 
  • Works effectively under pressure.
  • Effective communication and presenting skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives / projects.
